My Story
Antwan Turner MA, LPCC
Webster University, 2014, Master of Arts Counseling
Theoretical Orientation: Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Clinical/Research Interests: Trauma, Building Relationships, and Multicultural understanding.
History: I was raised all over Louisville, KY. I have never established roots in one neighborhood. My family was homeless in many of those early years, which came full circle for me later working with the homeless. My mother raised my brother and me to take education seriously, and she pushed her boys. She was the first person who told me that I am a good listener, planting the seed for the future.
Work History: I have been working with people professionally since 2004. During this time, I’ve learned how to deescalate, structure lives, and take a breather while working as a youth counselor
I have worked with the community matching mentoring adults with young adults as a mentor Case manager.
I have worked as a community support person to help guide and mold children under 18 as a Therapeutic Community Support worker.
I have worked with the adult homeless population to help house, guide, and manage lives that need support.
I have worked as a Counselor since 2014, helping to change, mold, and encourage people. I have worked with clients with ADHD, PTSD, Borderline personality disorder, Anxiety, and depression.
